Itinerary

1

Arusha

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Once immigration procedures and luggage collection are completed, we will meet a representative of the agency, who will indicate our transfer to the hotel in Arusha. Rooms may not be available before 14:00 hours. Arusha has established itself as the capital of northern Tanzania and a starting point for most safaris in the northern part of the country. Located at the foot of Mount Meru, the second-highest mountain in Tanzania, thanks to its temperate climate and lively, exuberant atmosphere, Arusha has become the ideal place for a first contact with the country. The rest of the day is free. Depending on the arrival time of the international flight, we will have free time to rest or the possibility of adding an additional excursion or visit. Accommodation at the lodge.

Day 2

Arusha - Tarangire National Park

Breakfast at the lodge and free morning. Free lunch and, at 14:00, departure to Tarangire National Park, known for its herds of elephants, where we will do a photo safari on the way to the lodge. Tarangire National Park is a majestic national park covering granite ridges, river valleys, and rich wildlife. During the annual dry season, the Tarangire River attracts thirsty wildlife. Large herds of elephants and migratory wildebeests, zebras, buffaloes, impalas, and gazelles gather, and it is not surprising that predators follow them closely. Tarangire is also the only place in Tanzania where arid antelopes such as oryx and gerenuk are regularly seen. This vast area is also famous for its spectacular baobab trees, stunning views of the Masai steppe, and the wonderful mountains to the south. Dinner and accommodation at the lodge.

Day 3

Tarangire National Park - Serengeti

After breakfast, departure from the lodge to go on a safari, before heading to the Serengeti, with a picnic lunch. We will pass through Maasai lands, an area of picturesque African villages and large coffee, maize, and banana plantations. Upon arrival at Serengeti National Park, we will conduct a photo safari on the way to the lodge. The Serengeti ecosystem is one of the oldest on the planet. The essential features of the climate have not changed in the last million years. The Serengeti-Mara ecosystem includes, in Tanzania, the Serengeti National Park itself, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Maswa, the Loliondo controlled hunting area, and the Grumeti and Ikorongo conservation areas. Dinner and accommodation at the lodge.

Day 4

Serengeti

Breakfast at the lodge and a full day dedicated to a safari in the Serengeti. You can choose between a sunrise safari and a sunset safari, returning to the lodge for lunch, or a full-day safari with a picnic lunch. Serengeti Park, the oldest in Tanzania, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981. Famous for appearing in numerous documentaries, it is home to the renowned BIG 5 but is equally famous for its black-maned lions. Its most significant natural spectacle is undoubtedly the Great Migration, when over a million wildebeests and nearly 200,000 zebras head south in search of new pastures created by the rains, each October and November. They then head north after the long rains in April, May, and June. From a geological perspective, the kopjes, rock formations created before the beginning of life on earth and visible throughout the park, are one of the must-see attractions: rocks that emerge out of nowhere in the middle of the savannah, often serving as a refuge for lions. Optional activity, at an additional cost: 1-hour hot air balloon safari, ending with a champagne breakfast in the savannah. Dinner and accommodation at the lodge.

Day 5

Serengeti - Ngorongoro

After breakfast, depart for the safari before continuing to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with a picnic lunch. Visit a Maasai village and arrive at the camp at dusk. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is located west of Arusha city and borders the Serengeti National Park to the southwest. It covers an area of 8,288 square kilometers and is home to four volcanic peaks. The variety and richness of fossil remains, including those of early hominids, have made this area one of the primary fields of human evolution research. Dinner and accommodation at the camp.

Day 6

Ngorongoro - Karatu

After an early breakfast, descend to the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater for a safari in the crater. Picnic lunch or return to the camp for lunch. Located in northern Tanzania, the Ngorongoro Crater is known for its natural beauty and abundant wildlife. Therefore, it has become one of Africa's most popular safari destinations. Surrounded by the highlands of Tanzania, this crater is said to be the world's largest intact volcanic caldera. Safaris are excellent throughout the year, and the diversity of landscapes and wildlife is incredible: the savannah blends with wetlands, rivers, and thickets, sheltering black-maned lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, elephants, leopards, and many other species. Once we leave the crater, we will head towards Karatu, arriving in time for dinner. Dinner and accommodation at the lodge. Cena y alojamiento en el lodge.

Day 7

Karatu - Arusha

Breakfast at the lodge and a free morning. It's possible to engage in extra activities (at an additional cost) such as a visit to Lake Manyara or the Mto wa Mbu area. At 11:00 a.m., depart for Arusha and transfer to the airport to continue the journey or return home.
