Panthaliya, meaning “the chalice of the village”, is a very good a la carte alternative at the Harabana Village Resort, located near the main restaurant, The Hena, and is decorated with classic Sri Lankan wicker loungers for a total relaxed dining experience.
The place serves hot drinks and has an extensive snack menu, so if you’re not in the mood for a big buffet, this is a great alternative to the Hena for a light lunch or a good coffee.
Main courses are also on offer, including the resort’s two signature dishes: the wild-style braised chicken and the lakeside fish fillet with herbed rice and local sour orange butter. The chicken in particular is tender and juicy, accompanied by creamy mash and buttered vegetables.
Opening hours:
- 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily.
