Tour Itinerary

Day 1
Colombo (arrival) - Dambulla
Arrival and assistance at the airport by our staff. Transfer to Dambulla. En route, it is possible to make a stop to cool off or take something before arriving at the hotel. Registration at the selected hotel in Dambulla. Rest of the day free to rest and enjoy the hotel / surroundings. At sunset, we will enjoy an Ayurvedic massage, which will help us recover from the fatigue that we have accumulated while we charge ourselves with energy to enter the Buddhist culture.

Day 2
Dambulla - Sigiriya - Polonnaruwa - Dambulla

AM: Visit to Sigiriya.

Breakfast at hotel and departure to Sigiriya. We will ascend to the impressive fortress of the rock of Sigiriya, one of the most important archaeological points in Asia, heritage. Built by King Kashyapa (477 – 495 ad) on a large monolith of Red stone, 180m above the jungle, it is a Citadel of extraordinary beauty that rises 200 metres above the jungle. The rock was the most hidden fortress of a city of 70 hectares. There is a moat, a wall and enormous gardens including the famous irrigation system that surrounds the base of the rock. We will visit the famous frescoes of the “divine ladies” of Sigiriya in a nook protected from the rock, which is accessed by a spiral staircase. Considered one of the eight wonders of the ancient world, there are sufficient remains to impress visitors with a sweeping view of the ingenuity and creativity of the builders.

PM: Visit to Polonnaruwa.

Tour through the city of Polonnaruwa. Medieval capital of Sri Lanka from the 11th century to the 13th A.d., the ancient city is considered to be the “Renaissance jewel” of Sinhala architecture. Currently protected by Unesco as a world heritage site for its archaeological and historical interest. There are large monuments scattered in the jungle on the shores of a vast swamp, such as the colossal figure sculpted in rock King Parakramabahu, the Royal Palace, the halls of hearings, the formidable Temple of images of Thuparama, etc. Visit the fabulous statues of the Gal Vihara which are three great Buddhas carved into a limestone wall. Finally we will see the new Museum where remains from all places in the area are kept. Return to the hotel in Habarana. Dinner and overnight at the hotel
Day 3
Dambulla - Polonnaruwa - Minneriya - Dambulla
Desayuno en el hotel. Por la mañana nos acercaremos a Polonnaruwa (55 km, aprox. 1 hora y 15 min.) donde realizaremos una visita por las ruinas de la antigua ciudad ahora ya abandonada. Capital medieval de Sri Lanka desde el siglo XI al XIII d.C., la antigua ciudad es considerada la “Joya Renacentista” de la arquitectura Sinhala. Actualmente protegida por la UNESCO como Patrimonio de la Humanidad por su interés arqueológico e histórico. Se encuentran grandes monumentos dispersos en la jungla a orillas de un inmenso pantano, tales como la colosal figura esculpida en roca del Rey Parakramabahu, el Palacio Real, los Salones de Audencias, el formidable Templo de Imágenes de Thuparama, etc.  Visitaremos las fabulosas estatuas del Gal Vihara, son tres grandes budas esculpidos en una pared de roca caliza. El primero se presenta sentado, en meditación; el segundo en pie, con los brazos cruzados sobre el pecho, postura que representa la iluminación; el tercero, de quince metros de longitud, está acostado, en el nirvana. Este último está considerado la estatua más perfecta y misteriosa de Sri Lanka. Finalmente veremos el Nuevo Museo donde se encuentran restos de todos los lugares de la zona. Por la tarde, realizaremos un safari en 4x4 en Minneriya o Kaudulla o Eco Park.  Es un parque Nacional declarado recientemente, que está en la provincia central del norte. Ubicado en las orillas del embalse de Minneriya, que fue construido en el siglo IV AC., Minneriya es un escondite para muchos elefantes, es posible observar manadas de elefantes, aproximadamente entre 50 y 60 elefantes en rebaño. A parte de los elefantes, es un hábitat natural de las especies migratorias y residentes  como garza gris, cigüeñas pintadas, etc. Y también se pueden ver 3 especies diferentes de monos como makake sílice, mono de la hoja y langer grey.
Day 4
Dambulla - Sigiriya - Kandy
Desayuno en el hotel. Por la mañana  nos dirigiremos a Sigiriya (10 km, aprox. 15 min). Ascenderemos a la impresionante Fortaleza de la Roca del León de Sigiriya, uno de los puntos arqueológicos más importantes de Asia. Está situada en un gran monolito de piedra roja a 180m de altura sobre la jungla.  Data del siglo V y  es Patrimonio de la Humanidad, construida por el Rey Kashyapa (477-495 DC).  La “Roca del León” es una ciudadela de belleza extraordinaria que se levanta a 200 metros de la selva. La roca era la más recóndita fortaleza de una ciudad de 70 hectáreas. Hay un foso, una muralla y enormes jardines incluyendo el célebre sistema de riego que rodea la base de la roca. Visitaremos los famosos frescos de las “Divinas Damas” de Sigiriya que se encuentran en un recoveco protegido de la roca, al que se accede por una escalera de espiral. Considerada una de las ocho maravillas del mundo antiguo, hay suficientes restos como para impresionar al visitante con una arrebatadora  visión del ingenio y creatividad de los constructores. Llegada a Kandy y registro en el hotel seleccionado de Kandy. Por la tarde, visitaremos Dalada Maligawa, el Templo del Santo Diente de Buda. Finalmente visitaremos “Raja Wasala”, complejo del Palacio Real cuyo hall de pilares de madera data del año 1784. Cena y descanso en el hotel de Kandy.
Day 5
Kandy – Peradeniya – Nuwara Eliya

Morning: visit to the Royal Botanical Gardens

Depart to Nuwara Eliya. En route we will visit the Royal Botanical Gardens. This Botanical Garden was originally built as a garden of enjoyment by a Sinhalese King and was extended  by the British. Its extension is almost a 60-hectare, offering an incredible variety of trees, plants and flowers, around 4000 species. In the middle of the garden, we find one of the largest collections of orchids in the world.

In the afternoon: Tour by the tea plantation of Nuwara Eliya

The route will continue to Nuwara Eliya tea plantations. Nuwara Eliya, due to its healthy climate of mountain and landscape, is the most famous place in Sri Lanka for a mountain holiday. Nuwara Eliya is also the heart of Sri Lanka tea production; a green mantle completely covers these mountains. You can taste a cup of tea from the very heart of Sri Lanka.
Day 6
Nuwara Eliya - Negombo
Desayuno  en el hotel. A continuación, salida con dirección a Negombo la ciudad más próxima a la capital y muy cercana al aeropuerto, A la llegada, nos dirigiremos al hotel para el registro. Por la tarde, descanso en el hotel donde se puede disfrutar del entorno natural y las instalaciones del resort. Cena y descanso en el hotel.
Day 7
Negombo - Aeropuerto
Desayuno en el hotel. A la hora indicada traslado al aeropuerto para el vuelo de conexión con el próximo destino o regreso a casa(15 minutos aprox).

Day 10

No doubt Maldives is the perfect place to relax so nothing better than having a good massage and feel as if you were reborn. One of the most famous massages in the Maldives is Ayurvedic massage. Ayurveda which means "Science of life" is a techinque of Hindu origins that has been carried out for long and now is used to prevent diseases and restore the physical and mental balance of the organism. Maldives-output (Malé International Airport)
Bed and breakfast in the resort. Transfer to the airport and flight departure from Malé.
