Mount Kenya - Naivasha Lake
After breakfast at the Club, we will leave Nanyuki and head towards the Lake Naivasha area. We will make a stop in Nyahururu for a short rest and to visit the Thompson Falls before continuing the scenic drive through the rugged Great Rift Valley to the shores of Lake Naivasha.
Lake Naivasha is the highest of the lakes in the Rift Valley. It is surrounded by papyrus and acacia trees, a unique geological landscape visited by a wide variety of more than 450 species of birds. It is a natural life source where zebras, hippos, and buffaloes, among many others, come to drink.
After lunch at the lodge, we will take a boat ride on the lake, where it is possible to spot hippos and various bird species. We will arrive at Crescent Island, an island that offers the unique opportunity to walk in nature. Zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, and gazelles are some of the animals that inhabit the island and that we will be able to admire during the walk.
