Breakfast in the hotel.
We start the day by visiting one of Myanmar’s most sacred figures, the Mahamuni Buddha, bathed in a ton of gold and many precious stones, such as diamonds, rubies, pearls, sapphires and emeralds. Then we will get on the way to Amarapura, former capital of the Burmese Kingdom (1 hour journey). There we can observe the life of the more than 1,000 monks who study in the Mahagandaryon Monastery. In addition, we will visit the Teak Bridge of U-Bein, which is more than 200 years old, and we will also spend some time visiting the famous silk fabrics of the city, specialty of local crafts.
We will continue with the excursion to the ancient royal capital of Ava, where we will climb a horse cart that will take us to the Bargayar Monastery, with its 267 carved teak pillars, and to the Maenu Okkyaung Monastery (also known as Maha Aungmye Bozan), built with brick and stucco.
Return to Mandalay and transfer to the hotel.
